SSC CGL Recruitment 2024 Notification to be out on 11th June 2024. Along with the release of the official notification, the SSC will also activate the apply online link. Candidates will be able to fill in their application forms until 10 July, 2024. The SSC had released the previous SSC CGL Notification for a total number of 8440 vacancies. SSC CGL Exam is one of the toughest exams in India. It is a graduate-level exam conducted in 2 phases i.e. Tier 1 & Tier 2. Tier 1 is qualifying in nature. Tier 2 has paper 1, paper 2 and paper 3 out of which paper 1 is compulsory. Tier 1 has been made qualifying from this year. Final merit would be based on the marks obtained by the candidates in SSC CGL Tier 2, 3 and 4 examinations.
The primary duties of a candidate recruited for the various posts under the SSC CGL exam include, providing assistance in the Audit process, data entry and processing, recording transactions, assessing the payable Income Tax for various salary bands, preventing invasion of excise duty, preventing forgery, etc... The Staff Selection Commission has released the SSC CGL Exam Dates along with the exam calendar. There are 2 Tiers for the SSC CGL Examination. The Tier 1 exam will be conducted during August - September 2024 and the Tier 2 exam dates will be announced soon.
SSC CGL (Staff Selection Commission - Combined Graduate Level Examination) is a national level competitive examination conducted by the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) to recruit eligible candidates for various Group "B" and Group "C" posts in different Ministries/Departments/ Organizations of the Government of India. It is conducted annually to select candidates for various posts like Assistant Section Officer, Inspector of Income Tax, Central Excise Inspector, Assistant Audit Officer, Accounts Officer, Assistant Enforcement Officer etc. Shortlisting of candidates in the SSC CGL Exam is done through a four-tier selection process. Every year, over 20 lakh students appear for the SSC CGL Exam and only 5% of the candidates make it to the final merit list, making it one of the top most competitive examinations in the country.

The SSC CGL Exam is one of the most difficult competitive exams in the country, conducted annually to recruit candidates to various Group B and C posts in the various offices/departments of the Govt. of India. Lakhs of students appear for the SSC CGL each year, making it extremely competitive to make it to the final selection list. However, with the right preparation strategy for the SSC CGL Exam, candidates can not only qualify the exam, but also achieve a higher score. Let us look at few SSC CGL Preparation Tips below –
The Staff Selection Commission is expected to release the SSC CGL Admit Card 2024 in the last week of August/first week of September for the Tier 1 exam scheduled in September-October 2024. Candidates will be able to download their admit cards from the official website ssc.nic.in by entering their registration number and date of birth.
The SSC CGL Admit Card 2024 is an important document that will mention details like the exam date, time and center details allocated to the candidate. Candidates must download and take a colored printout of their admit card and carry it to the exam hall along with a valid photo identity proof. No candidate will be allowed to take the exam without a valid Admit Card and ID proof.
After the successful conduct of the Tier 1 CGL exam 2024, SSC is expected to release the provisional answer keys in the last week of October 2024 on ssc.nic.in. Candidates will be given a window of 1-2 weeks to raise objections, if any, against the answer key by paying a non-refundable fee per question.
The final SSC CGL Answer Key will be released taking into consideration valid objections. This final answer key is used for evaluation and preparation of results. Candidates are advised to check both provisional and final answer keys released by SSC to get an idea about their probable scores in the examination.
The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) releases the SSC CGL Cut Off for each category after the declaration of the final result. The cut off marks vary each year based on various factors like the difficulty level of the exam, the number of candidates appeared, available vacancies etc.
It is expected that SSC will release the SSC CGL Cut Off for 2024 exams along with the result declaration by mid 2025. Candidates need to secure marks equal to or more than the prescribed cut off to be considered for the next round of selection process. Only the candidates clearing the cut off will be shortlisted for document verification and provisional selection.
The Staff Selection Commission declares the SSC CGL Result 2024 in a phase-wise manner on the official website. The SSC CGL Tier 1 Result is expected by November 2024. Only those who clear the CBT will be shortlisted for the Tier 2 exam scheduled in late 2024 or early 2025. Following Tier 2, the shortlisted candidates will appear for Tier 3 (descriptive paper). The final SSC CGL result comprising the scores of all four stages will be declared by mid-2025. Candidates can check their scores by entering registration number/roll number in the result link. The qualified candidates will be called for document verification and medical test.

HRA is provided to the employees to meet their house rent needs. House rent allowance varies according to the city and is classified into 3 categories. HRA shall not be less than Rs. 5400/- pm, Rs. 3600/- pm and Rs.1800/- pm at X, Y & Z class cities respectively.
HRA shall be revised to 27%, 18% & 9% of Basic Pay in X, Y & Z cities when Dearness Allowance (DA) crosses 25% and further to 30%, 20% and 10% of Basic Pay in X, Y & Z cities when DA crosses 50%
The Dearness Allowance is a cost of living adjustment allowance and is currently 17% Of basic Pay under the 7th Pay Commission. The union cabinet has increased the DA to 17% in October 2019.
